The Quattro S ESEM from ThermoFisher Scientific is a high resolution SEM that is capable of imaging an expanded variety of specimen types beyond that of a standard SEM. The tool is equipped with tools to assist with automated image collection and is able to stitch together large fields of view. The tool also has the ability to image in a variety of different gaseous environments.

Applications
Detectors
- Everhart Thornley Secondary Electron Detector (ETD SE)
- Everhart Thornley Backscattered Electron Detector (ETD BSE)
- Low Vacuum Detector (LVD)
- Gaseous Secondary Electron Detector (GSED)
Imaging Modes
- High Vacuum (HV) mode – standard mode for analyzing conductive specimens.
- Low Vacuum (LV) mode – beneficial for imaging non-conductive specimens without additional specimen preparation. Pressures between 10 – 500 Pa.
- Environmental (ESEM) – Select from different gases at different pressures to image nonstandard samples or perform in situ analysis.
Software
- Maps software for automated imaging and the ability to stitch together multiple images to view larger fields.
